How To - Move Angry Birds Scoring to a New Device

Ben Greiner -

If you ever need to move your Angry Birds high scores, star counts and golden eggs to another iPad there is a way! Get the free iPhone Explorer (works with iPad too) and copy these files to your Mac (all 5 of the files in the Angry Birds Documents folder):

• Apps > Angry Birds > Documents:

- DataStore
- FetchManager
- highscores.lua
- PostManager
- settings.lua

Connect your new iOS device and replace these same files. (We successfully tested from iPad to iPad. We're not sure if it will work from iPhone to iPad).

This doesn't seem to work for me.

I downloaded iPhone Explorer (for Windows PC), fired it up, and opened the Apps folder. But all the folders are named as class names. Finally found Angry Birds (the folder was actually named "com.clickgamer.AngryBirds"). But when I click on it, iPhone Explorer errors with 'File or Directory not found". iPod (3gen Touch) is connected and on.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

    Hi Carl,

Unfortunately, we have only tested with iPhone Explorer for Mac. Although you are correct the process should be very similar (aside from different directory names). Make sure you're in the correct directory (folder).

I'm not sure what you mean by "make sure you're in the correct directory".

I can't get *into* a directory. Correct or not.

When I fire up iPhone Explorer, the left tree shows my iPod, and subnodes of "Apps" and Media". I open "Apps", and I'm presented a list of directories (like I said, named an awful lot like class names).

Then no matter what directory I click on from there, I get the "File or Directory not Found".

I seem to be able to drill down the "Media" directory tree just fine. But "Apps" will only go one level in.
