Adobe Creative Cloud October 2017 Release (CC2018)
Notable App Changes and Updates
What Adobe is calling the AI engine they are using across all their apps and services. Siri, Cortana, Sensei — you’re not a big tech company without an AI, I guess. http://www.adobe.com/sensei.html
Photoshop Lightroom CC and Lightroom Classic
There are now two versions of Lightroom: Photoshop Lightroom CC and Lightroom Classic. Photoshop Lightroom CC still has a .app you install, but you are meant to keep all of your photos online in Adobe's cloud. Lightroom CC for Mac/Win will then automatically sync everything with Lightroom iOS and Lightroom Web. Lightroom Classic is the latest version of the traditional .app that stores files locally.
Lightroom 6 is the last standalone version of Lightroom that can be purchased outside of a Creative Cloud membership. There will not be a Lightroom 7 perpetual offering. Lightroom 6 will remain for sale for an undetermined amount of time, but will no longer be updated with camera support or bug fixes after the end of 2017. Lightroom 6.13 with support for the Nikon D850 will be released on October 26, 2017.
